NOISE PROBERS MAP DRIVE

Seventy-two investigations of complaints about noises have been made by the mayor’s noise abatement committee, Charles J. McCabe, committee member, said today.

More than 900 complaints of noises ranging all the way from unnecessary automobile horn blowing to shifting of railroad engines have been brought to the committee’s attention through questionnaires sent out, he said.

McCabe said police have investigated and corrected noise conditions in a dozen instances caused by late patrons of beer gardens. He said the committee intends, after all of the complaints have been investigated, to launch an educational campaign requesting motorists to refrain from unnecessary horn blowing.
