SCHLITZ DENIES NOTICE OF BAN

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 13–Schlitz Brewing Company officials today said they had received no formal notification the Michigan liquor control commission had barred the company from doing business in Michigan and cancelled its license.

The commission announced the cancellation in Lansing yesterday. The action was taken because the Schlitz company failed to pay a fine of $2,000 assessed against it by the commission as a punishment for extending credit to a retail outlet, it was said.
